John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited is the holding company of the publicly-listed conglomerate, Swire Pacific Limited. Our Group Public Affairs Department is now inviting candidates to apply for the following position:
 

 

Translator

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Translate legal and financial documents, including annual and interim reports, announcements, circulars, press releases, and policies
  • Translate corporate communications collaterals, such as biographies, surveys, executive speeches, and social media content
  • Review externally translated materials, such as financial circulars, announcements, publications, and sustainable development reports, to ensure adherence to company standards
  • Develop appropriate and impactful Chinese equivalents for names and professional titles
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments as assigned

 

To be successful in this role, you must have:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree or above in Translation, Linguistics, or relevant disciplines
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in publishers, translation services or sizeable international organisations
  • Solid knowledge of legal and financial documents translation. Experience in corporate communications or public relations is highly desirable
  • The ability to transform complex information into clear and concise communications
  • The attentiveness to details, with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Chinese typing 
  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills in English and Chinese (Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese)
