John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited is the holding company of the publicly-listed conglomerate, Swire Pacific Ltd.  Our Taxation Department is now inviting candidates to apply for the following position:

 

Tax Consultant


The job holder is responsible for providing support to Group Head of Tax and Deputy Group Head of Tax in tax compliance, transfer pricing documentation, desktop research, international tax advisory, group restructuring, tax planning and M&A projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage tax compliance works, including corporate income tax filings in Hong Kong and matters involving cross-border remittance and overseas capital gains tax filing (e.g. the Chinese Mainland, ASEAN, etc.). 
  • Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation, including local files of Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland, Master File of the Swire Group and Country-by-Country Reporting notification in Hong Kong 
  • Identify Hong Kong tax issues and provide tax advice to operating companies
  • Identify and implement tax efficient structures across Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland
  • Support Group Head of Tax and Deputy Group Head of Tax in merger and acquisition transactions, tax due diligence, group restructuring, tax audit, tax planning, etc.

 

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, with at least 5 years relevant experience in taxation field, preferably with international tax experience
  • A professional accounting qualification such as HKICPA or equivalent
  • Sound knowledge of the prevailing Hong Kong and PRC tax legislation, and their practical application
  • Hands-on experience in conducting desktop research on international tax independently
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
