John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited is the holding company of the publicly-listed conglomerate, Swire Pacific Ltd. Our Sustainable Development Office is now inviting candidates to apply for the following position:

 

Sustainable Development Officer 
Sustainable development is a strategic imperative for our business. The group’s Sustainable Development Office (SDO) led by the Group Head of Sustainability, advises senior management of key developments and emerging risks related to sustainable development (SD), and is responsible for setting environmental policies and targets, monitoring the implementation of our group strategy, SwireTHRIVE, and our ESG policies, and for communication on ESG matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Assistant Sustainable Development Manager to manage the sustainable development data platform
  • Ensure timely monitoring of performance data, tracking progress against SD strategy work plan, and measuring performance against key targets and group KPIs
  • Support in conducting data audits to ensure compliance with the Group Sustainability Data Protocols
  • Assist in the preparation of sustainability accounting reports including the SD Budget, Divisional Environmental and Board Sustainability performance reports 
  • Assist with the preparations of internal and external SD reporting as well as responses to external ESG rating questionnaires
  • Help coordinate Swire Group SD Committee and the SwireTHRIVE working groups
  • Support the SDO in conducting research and benchmarking studies of the Group and its operating companies’ SD performance.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree holder or above in environmental management, organisational sustainability, or related disciplines
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in either an in-house SD position or SD consultancy. Candidates with more experience may be considered Senior Officer
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English and Cantonese. Proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage
  • Strong data management, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and data management systems
