John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited is the holding company of the publicly-listed conglomerate, Swire Pacific Ltd.  Our Finance & Accounts Department is now inviting candidates to apply for the following position:

 

Payroll Specialist


Responsibilities: 

  • Execute monthly regular and off-cycle payrolls in a timely and accurate manner, and collaborate with related parties to address any payroll-related issues promptly
  • Prepare and submit various employer tax returns to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) punctually, handle Hong Kong notional tax obligations, and coordinate tax refunds for employees on secondment outside of Hong Kong
  • Record payroll-related accounting entries, such as payroll journals and debit notes for staff cost recovery, ensuring payroll records are kept in compliance with regulations and company policies
  • Prepare payroll-related reporting and analysis, such as staff costs forecast and annual budget
  • Administer various employee loan programmes, such as housing and interest-free loans
  • Maintain meticulous payroll records and support payroll and ORSO audits, ensuring data integrity and compliance with local regulation
  • Identify areas for process, workflows and system enhancement, and lead initiatives to digitise and streamline payroll operations
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as and when assigned

 

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • An Associate Degree in Human Resources Management, Accounting or other related disciplines, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in payroll management 
  • Strong knowledge of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance, and Hong Kong notional tax calculation and regulations related to Hong Kong Salaries Tax Filing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel. Candidates with experience in SAP payroll and accounting systems will be an advantage
  • Good attention to detail, with strong ability in data analytics and problem-solving
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a keen awareness of confidentiality and ensuring sensitive information is handled with discretion
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluent Putonghua is desirable
