Manager, Internal Communications
We’re looking for a strategic communicator who has strong experience in Internal Communications, particularly in HR communication and business partnering. You’ll have the ability to develop and deliver communication strategies that engage and inform employees, connecting all parts of the organisation on key business priorities. You’re a big picture thinker, who can provide strategic communication counsel to our stakeholders across all levels at JS&SHK. You’re a team player, who can roll up your sleeves and delve into the detail to design and develop engaging and compelling communications.
This role will take the lead in formulating comprehensive communication strategies to engage our global audience. It will also be responsible for creating and delivering internal communications initiatives, creating and managing channels and events, and ensuring consistent messaging across various channels.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the Internal Communication Strategy to impact the key deliverables of the Internal Communications function. Make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
- Build strong networks with internal and cross-functional teams, to gather information and align messaging with various business initiatives
- Help create and execute a communication calendar for JS&S to plan and schedule communication activities, ensuring timely and consistent messaging
- Plan and develop impactful content, including speeches, scripts, leadership messages, newsletters, intranet content, videos and presentations including infographics and other multimedia
- Conceptualise, plan and manage communications and engagement tactics including town halls, internal forums and other connection platforms
- Oversee message consistency, alignment and relevant translation across JS&SHK in line with our tone of voice
- Manage internal communication channels effectively, including digital and traditional channels. Track metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to report on the impact, and continuously improve their effectiveness using insight and measurement
- Monitor closely developments in the digital tools and platforms landscape to enhance the effectiveness and accessibility of internal communications
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote employee recognition programmes, employee surveys, and feedback mechanisms
- Support communication planning during crises, change, or sensitive organisational events
- Develop communications budget and manage the cost tracking
- Support other assigned ad hoc tasks
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in internal / external communications, corporate communication or related experience which should include at least 4 years in a leadership role
- Proven experience in strategic communication planning and delivery, crisis and change communication
- Strong storytelling and content development skills, with the ability to create engaging and impactful communications across various platforms
- Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, including intranet software, social media, and email platforms
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse audiences at all levels
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
- Understanding of best practices and trends in internal communications
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English, with the ability to distil complex messaging and tailor to diverse audiences conveying information clearly and concisely. Chinese proficiency is advantageous
