John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited is the holding company of the publicly-listed conglomerate, Swire Pacific Ltd. Our Group Risk Management Department is now inviting candidates to apply for the following position:
Head of Enterprise Risk Management
The role serves as a trusted advisor and business partner on risk related matters. He/She will ensure effective Group Risk Management programme is in place across the Group, and be accountable for Swire Pacific’s Business Continuity Management and the Health and Safety programmes.
Responsibilities:
- Steer effective design and implementation of Risk Management Framework for Swire Pacific, including identifying emerging risks, conducting regular risk assessments and following up on mitigating actions
- Lead risk thematic reviews, develop and maintain business continuity and crisis management plans, and organise regular drills
- Ensure key risks are completely identified and provide necessary challenge and oversight to ensure effective risk mitigations are in place
- Design and ensure group-wide implementation of Swire Pacific Policy Governance
- Provide risk assurance and recommendations to Board, Senior Executives, and Committees e.g. Group Risk Management Committee, and Swire Pacific Risk Management Committee
- Give support, as trusted advisor and business partner, to Senior Executives in risk-based decision making and help businesses achieve strategic objectives
- Demonstrate thought leadership amongst ERM Community, and provide counsel to operating companies’ risk management capabilities and practices
- Oversee the Swire Pacific Health and Safety Programme and provide regular reporting and assurance to Board / Risk Committees
- Act as Secretary to the Risk Sub-Committees, to propose agendas and ensure members are effectively acting in their second line capacity
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above, in engineering, health & safety, business or risk management or related discipline
- At least 15 years of risk management experience, working in multinational companies, financial services companies or conglomerates at group or regional level
- Sound knowledge of Risk Management Frameworks, and Health and Safety programmes
- Proven track record in project management and change management
- Strong consulting skills, and the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) is highly desirable
