John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited is the holding company of the publicly-listed conglomerate, Swire Pacific Ltd. Our Group Public Affairs Department is now inviting candidates to apply for the following position:
 

 

General Manager, Group Public Affairs

 

The role is accountable for leading the strategic communication of the Swire brand story and engagement with key stakeholders, through a full suite of multi-channel communications programmes and stakeholder engagement initiatives. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Monitor and analyse key social and political affairs in Hong Kong, and to manage the communication of the Group’s position on these issues consistent with the Group’s strategic objectives
  • Devise and execute strategic engagement of the Group’s key stakeholders in Hong Kong, including media, business community, chambers of commerce, and government officials, etc
  • Actively involve in trade chambers activities and committees, as well as government advisory committees
  • Lead responsibility for strategic communication of corporate information to external parties through various channels
  • Oversee the management of corporate events such as press conference, capital markets day, group conferences and management meetings, company anniversaries, etc
  • Provide advice and support to the communications functions of the Head Office Crisis Management Team, and operating companies on incident responses 
  • Act as a gatekeeper of the Swire brand to ensure operating companies adhere to corporate identity guidelines 
  • Collaborate with communication partners in operating companies to ensure communication campaign and messages are aligned across the Group  

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, with at least 15 years of public affairs and corporate communications experience in sizable organizations or listed companies
  • Strong network with media, government stakeholders, key influencers and trade chambers
  • Proven track record in crisis and issue management, and a thorough understanding of current affairs and the media landscape
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
  • Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills
