Assistant Manager, Payroll (Reporting & Analysis)

This role is primarily responsible for data analysis, payroll workflow optimisation, and payroll systems enhancements. The incumbent will also support the Payroll team on payroll function in a professional and efficient manner, while ensuring compliance with regulations. 



  • Oversee payroll migration and upgrade, including testing, system update, and issue resolution, while managing all related project documentation
  • Support standardisation, automation, and transformation initiatives to boost efficiency of payroll processes
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including payroll journals, notional tax contributions, and prepare reporting and analysis such as staff costs forecast and annual budget
  • Develop and deliver training materials to ensure team readiness for the new payroll system
  • Enhance inter-departmental communication, and collaborate with functional departments to ensure accurate and seamless payroll procedures
  • Engage in ad hoc analysis and projects as required


To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree holder, with 6-8 years of relevant experience in management reporting and system migration, including 2 years in a supervisory position. Candidates with payroll experience with be an advantage 
  • Proven experience in SAP Payroll and Accounting Systems
  • Experience in HRIS system enhancement, as well as process standardisation and automation, are preferred
  • Knowledge of the HK Employment Ordinance, MPF regulations and other relevant ordinances/regulations related to HK tax filing, and Personal Data Privacy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel
  • Good attention to detail, strong ability in data analytics and problem-solving
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluent Putonghua is desirable
