We are now inviting candidates to apply for the following position, based in our Beijing office:
 

 

Manager, Corporate Communications, Chinese Mainland

 

The role supports the Head of Corporate Communications, Chinese Mainland, in driving the corporate communications of the Swire Group in the Chinese Mainland by managing internal and external communication programmes across various channels with engaging and impactful messaging.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement communication plans aligned with the Group's corporate communication strategy and messaging in the Chinese Mainland. Ensure all content meets Swire’s quality, brand, and social/political standards across media, social media, and internal platforms
  • Provide training and guidance to junior team members to ensure high-quality content creation, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the team
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry influencers, such as academics, social media KOLs, PR associations, and government departments, to strengthen Swire’s brand profile
  • Manage internal communication programmes and publications by building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve effective communication goals
  • Monitor media and social media coverage, to provide timely reports/alerts on potential reputational risks. Collaborate with the Head of Corporate Communications, Chinese Mainland, and Hong Kong head office to develop response strategies and statements 
  • Plan and execute corporate communication events, such as press conferences, internal conferences, and company celebrations. Coordinate with cross-functional teams in the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong to ensure successful delivery
  • Assist in managing communication budgets and PR agencies, to ensure the communication objectives are met within budget and up to Swire’s standards

 

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Communication, Journalism or a related discipline
  • At least 6 years’ experience in PR or communication field, with a background as an editor or journalist in government or business media organisations
  • A thorough understanding of local media regulations and related laws, with an awareness of political and cultural nuances and the ability to navigate the local business environment tactfully
  • Solid storytelling and copywriting skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders effectively  
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
